Cinereous Warbling-Finch Gallery

The Cinereous Warbling-Finch, or Poospiza cinerea, is a Brazilian endemic whose status is considered vulnerable due to habitat loss. I've seen this Cerrado specialty a few times in open fields with scattered trees while feeding in small social groups. This pair was photographed along the entrance road to Serra da Canastra National Park just before dawn. Note the subtle differences in appearance between the male and female, which is pictured in the last two photos.
